Nugget Reader is a personal reading app for saving and summarizing newsletters and articles. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture as provided by Google.
- Content you save: links you share or paste, the article text we fetch for them, the summaries we generate, and your highlights.
- Settings: the custom summary prompts you write.
- Usage data: anonymous page-view analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking).
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your reading list private to your account.
- To fetch, store, and display the articles you save.
- To generate summaries of those articles when you ask for them.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your content for marketing.
Services that process your data
- Supabase — authentication and database storage for your account and saved content.
- Vercel — hosting the app and privacy-friendly page-view analytics.
- Google — sign-in, if you choose “Continue with Google.” We receive only your basic profile and email.
- Jina AI Reader — receives the URL of each article you save so it can return the article text.
- Google Gemini — receives article text to generate summaries. Under Google’s terms, content sent to Gemini may be used to improve Google’s services.
Retention and deletion
- Your data is kept while your account is active.
- Deleting an article in the app removes it and its highlights from our database.
- To delete your account and all associated data, email dizzyk.kyzzid@gmail.com from your account’s address. We’ll complete the request within 30 days.
Cookies and storage
- We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and local browser storage for preferences like light or dark theme. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
